Handyout Analytics
The Analytics page surfaces all audience engagement data for a selected handyout — views, time on slide, reactions, comments, device breakdown, session duration, and per-slide engagement.
Navigating the Analytics page
Describes how the Analytics page works now that the three-tab toolbar has been removed: the page shows a single unified analytics workspace and auto-selects the most recently edited presentation with a handyout.
Navigating analytics
The Analytics page opens directly on a single, unified analytics workspace for one handyout at a time. There is no toolbar or tab bar to switch between views — all analytics data is presented together in one scrollable workspace.
Automatic presentation selection
When you open the Analytics page without specifying a presentation, it automatically loads data for the handyout you most recently worked on. If you add a ?presentation_id=… parameter to the URL (for example, by clicking "Analytics" from a Presentation detail page), that specific handyout's data loads instead.
The analytics workspace
All engagement data for the selected handyout appears in a single scrollable workspace. The header above the workspace contains a presentation selector — use it to switch between handyouts without leaving the page. Changing the selection reloads all data for the newly chosen handyout.
When no handyout is available
If you have not yet generated a handyout, the page shows an empty state instead of the workspace. The empty state adapts based on your account:
- If you have a presentation but no handyout: a prompt to go to that presentation and generate one.
- If you have no presentations at all: a prompt to upload a presentation first.
Analytics workspace — all data in one view
Notes that the separate per-slide analytics mode previously accessed via the toolbar has been merged into the single analytics workspace; there is no longer a separate per-slide tab to switch to.
Analytics workspace
The Analytics page now presents a unified workspace rather than separate tabs. Previously there was a toolbar with "Overview", "Per-slide", and "Feedback" tabs; that toolbar has been removed. All engagement data, including per-slide breakdowns, is available within the single workspace view.
To see how your audience engaged with individual slides, scroll through the analytics workspace — per-slide data is incorporated alongside the overall engagement charts and reaction summaries.
Changing the handyout
The presentation selector in the analytics header still works the same way: choose a different handyout from the dropdown and the workspace reloads with that handyout's data.
Feedback data in the analytics workspace
Notes that the dedicated Feedback tab previously accessible from the analytics toolbar has been removed; feedback scores and comments are now part of the unified analytics workspace.
Feedback data
Structured feedback from your audience — ratings on dimensions such as overall satisfaction, understanding, relevance, and actionability — is surfaced within the unified analytics workspace. There is no longer a separate "Feedback" tab; the toolbar that previously separated analytics into Overview, Per-slide, and Feedback views has been removed.
Scroll through the analytics workspace to find audience feedback scores, response distributions, and viewer comments. The workspace brings all this data together in one place rather than requiring you to switch modes.
Viewer comments
All free-text comments left by viewers across every slide are also accessible from the dedicated Comments page in the dashboard sidebar. The Comments page provides a slide-by-slide discussion view where you can read, reply to, and moderate each comment in context.
Data freshness — analytics always load live
Explains that the Analytics page always fetches the most current audience data on every load or reload, so numbers are never served from a stale cached snapshot.
Analytics data is always current
Every time you open or reload the Analytics page, the numbers you see reflect audience activity up to that moment. The page is never served from a stored snapshot — Handyout fetches your latest data fresh on each visit.
What this means in practice
- During a live talk — reload the Analytics page while your audience is active and the new views, reactions, and comments will appear immediately. There is no delay caused by caching.
- After a talk — the first time you open Analytics after a session, you are always looking at the full picture as it stands at that moment, not a snapshot from an earlier visit.
- Switching presentations — changing the selected presentation in the header and reloading always pulls fresh data for the newly selected handyout.
You do not need to take any action to "refresh" analytics data. Loading the page is enough.
